Great Taste Awards 2024 🏆
We're chuffed to have won another SIX awards this year, including a coveted TWO stars for our Sustainable Fish Pie 🎣. Check out the line-up and a flavour of what the judges had to say below.

Sustainable Fish Pie 🌟🌟
This double star means a LOT. Wonderful comments from the judges "all the ingredients listed brought something to the dish and were harmonious."
And on sustainability they remarked "our initial praise for using a sustainable fish like coley was soon followed by an exclamation on the juicy, delicious smoked treatment of it."
Turns out doing the right thing, also tastes GREAT.

Chicken & Leek Pie 🌟
"A rustic, home-made and inviting looking pie with generous chunks of chicken and vegetables. The flavour is creamy, tarragon-filled and well seasoned. The nigella seeds are a welcome addition."
That's more or less what we'd say too. Glad the judges agree!

Mac & Cheese 🌟
Quote: "This is a rather superior form of Mac and Cheese, from the choice of pasta shape to the crunchy panko breadcrumbs and resonant rosemary."
From now on we'll only refer to our Mac as superior.
Not forgetting a shout out to our epic kitchen team "the judges noted the good quality ingredients and the skill here."

Tarragon Chicken 🌟
"The judges were really impressed with this dish. The smokiness of the bacon permeates the whole sauce, the tarragon is present but not too strong, the sauce is not too thick and well seasoned. The chicken is tender and juicy. We would all be happy to serve this."
Hopefully we'll be seeing our Tarragon Chicken at the next Great Taste dinner party. 👀
Seems a reasonable conclusion.

Miso Butter Hispi Cabbage 🌟
For some, our Hispi is our number one dish. IYKYK. And it seems the judges have now joined them - "the cabbage is buttery, juicy and pleasantly resilient without any toughness. The miso is almost sweet, certainly not too salty, while rich in umami."
Our team did us proud. "We did wonder before sampling at the wisdom of ready-prepared hispi but this has convinced us of its desirability. Quite an achievement in its apparent simplicity!"

Dauphinoise Potatoes 🌟
As a consistent bestseller it's great the judges have joined in.
"This is a nicely bronzed dauphinoise with an unusually deep, inviting, savoury aroma. The palate is pleasing both texturally and taste-wise – the potatoes have held their shape yet are perfectly tender."
Overall described as - "warming and pleasing" - the catch being that literally no-one has the time to make good Dauphinoise, so we've made sure no-one needs to.
